  Pumping the Pond

Lasseigne's Rentals, in Reserve, Louisiana. A view of the pond on the August 23rd, just before pumping began. Is Mike going to pick that thing up by himself? Mike and Allen decide teamwork is the best approach. Allen placing the pump's suction/inlet hose. The end of the suction hose needed to be towards the deepest area of the pond. Mike attaches the outlet hose to the pump Mike attaches the outlet hose to the pump Start that pump! Mike and Allen position the pump so the hoses don't kink or coil up. The red outlet hose inflates almost instantly as water begins to rush through it. The pond is just about empty only three hours later. Water being expelled into an adjoining canal. Allen adjusts the suction hose to get the last of the water. You have not experienced mud, until you've experience Maurepas swamp mud. For a while we thought the muddy soup that was left might swallow Allen whole. Seriously, though, the job went well; great work Mike and Allen!
